江戸時代の日本とイギリスのつながりを
貴重な歴史資料から語る Telling the Story of the Connections between Japan and Britain during
the Edo Period from Valuable Historical Materials

　1981年、旧英国総領事館の敷地に開館した当館は、日英のつながりを示す歴史資料を積極的に収集し、調査研究を積み重ねてきました。

　開館40周年を記念して開催する本展では、日英関係の黎明期とも言うべき江戸時代に焦点をあて、この時代の両国の結びつきの諸相を、2期（Ⅰ期：江戸時代初期～後期　Ⅱ期：幕末期）にわけて紹介します。

　いくつもの海を越えむすばれた両国の絆の源流に、当館の貴重な歴史資料から思いを馳せていただければ幸いです。

This archives was opened on the site of the former British Consulate-General in 1981. It actively collects historical materials that demonstrate Britain-Japan relations, and has undertaken a wealth of scientific research. Commemorating 40 years since the opening of this archives, this exhibition focuses on the Edo period, which could be called the dawn of British and Japanese relations. It divides relations during this period into two phases (phase 1: early to later Edo period; phase 2: end of Edo period). We hope that our valuable exhibits will take you back to the source of bonds forged between both countries separated by many seas.

入館料	一般：300円／小・中学生、横浜市内在住65歳以上：150円毎週土曜日は高校生以下無料 ※展示をご覧になる際には、オンラインによる事前予約（日時指定）をご利用いただくと、ご入館がスムーズです。

Admission	Adults 300 yen, Elementary and junior high school students or people aged 65 or older living in Yokohama 150 yen.
Pre-Book Your Visit	The admission ticket is sold on our advanced booking website in order to reduce, as much as possible, the risk of the virus being carried and transmitted through our facilities. Please purchase your ticket online before visiting the museum. Holders of free admission tickets and all types of discount tickets are also required to book.

Public transportation:
From Nihon-odori Station of Minato-Mirai Line, the Archives are 2-minute walk.
From Sakuragi-cho Station of JR, take the municipal bus and get off at Kencho-mae (Prefectural Office) stop. The Archives are a one-minute walk from the bus stop, and a 10- or 15-minute walk from Kannai Station of JR and the Yokohama Municipal Subway.
